James T. DuBois, Sr. was born in Fayetteville, Tennessee, and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Middle Tennessee State University and his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Vanderbilt University in 1970. In addition to practicing law in Columbia, Tennessee since 1970, Mr. DuBois has served as the United State Magistrate for Southern Middle Tennessee from 1971-1982. He is a member of the Maury County and Tennessee Bar Associations and was selected as a Fellow in the Tennessee Bar Foundation.
Although he is involved in all areas of the firm's practice, his areas of concentration have been in commercial law, real estate law, banking law and civil litigation. He is also co-owner and president of DuBois & DuBois, P.C. Closing Services.
Mr. DuBois has served as president of the Columbia Rotary Club, Maury County Chamber of Commerce, March of Dimes, Columbia Main Street, Boy Scouts of America, and has been active in various civic and charitable affairs in the community. He serves as executive board member for the Middle Tennessee Council, Boy Scouts of America, and was selected as Maury County's Outstanding Young Man in 1974. Mr. DuBois was one of the organizers and founding board members of the Maury County Economic Development Commission and The Maury Alliance. He has also served on numerous economic development committees over the years.
Mr. DuBois is married to the former Beth Alderson, and they have three children.
