Rachel D. Sharp was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, but grew up in Columbia, Tennessee. She graduated, with honors, from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) in 2002, earning her Bachelor of Arts degree. While attending MTSU, Rachel was a Presidential Scholar and an active member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She also served as a legislative intern in the Tennessee General Assembly for Representative John Hood of Murfreesboro. After graduating from MTSU, Rachel worked for the Tennessee General Assembly House ClerkÕs Office, working closely with the Health, Education, and State and Local Government committees.

In 2006, Rachel received her Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, graduating in the top one-third of her class. While in law school, Rachel was a member of the University of Memphis Law Review, an officer for the Student Bar Association, and a Student Orientation Leader. During her final year of law school, she worked as the law clerk for Circuit Court Judge Karen R. Williams.

Recently, the Dean of the law school certified Rachel's Law Review note, titled "Digital Sampling of Sound Records--How the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit is Reacting" and entered it into the ASCAP Nathan Burkan Memorial Writing Competition. Rachel is a member of the Maury County Bar Association and the Tennessee Bar Association. Her practice areas are general litigation, family law, real estate law, commercial law and estate planning.

Rachel currently resides in Columbia, Tennessee.
